Maudsland is a rural community located north of the City of Gold Coast on Queensland's coast. It includes acreage holdings as well as a variety of housing estates, both acreage, and neighborhood.
Maudsland is located on the opposite bank of the Coomera River from Guanaba, and it borders the city of the Pacific Pines. The eastern half of Maudsland is urbanized, with census populations of 56 in 1961, 1902 in 2006, and 3215 in 2011.
The origin of the name Maudsland appears to be unknown.
Under the supervision of headteacher John William Scott, Maudsland Provisional School opened on October 13, 1879, and on January 1, 1909, it became a state school. On April 15, 1963, it was closed, and the surviving pupils and buildings were transferred to Coomera State School. Albert Shire Council turned the school grounds into parks.
Around 15 years ago, Maudsland had a massive surge in growth. However, there hasn't been anything happening there in the last 5-10 years.
A big park and playground with a field, grilling and picnic facilities and play areas can be found in Maudsland's Park Lake estate.
Kick a footy, spread a picnic blanket, or walk the dog at Riverstone Crossing Reserve. This park has a lot of open grasslands where you may play games and relax in the sun. A special off-leash dog area is also available at this park, where dogs can exercise and socialize.
Parklake boasts a flying fox, as well as slides, rockers, tunnels, bridges, spinning poles, and the ever-popular space-age, mega toy playground, which will keep the kids occupied for hours.
A number of private and state schools, including the brand new Park Lakes Primary School, High Schools, Childcare Facilities, and Westfield Helensvale, are all within close proximity.
