Bundall is a Gold Coast suburb that is largely made up of canal estates. It is bordered on the north by Slayter Road, on the east by Bundall Road, on the south by the Nerang River, and on the west by an unidentified canal that runs parallel to the Nerang River.
Housing is also built near the canals in the northernmost area of the district. Southport Racecourse and its associated companies, as well as the Benowa Effluent re-pump station, are located in the suburb's central business district.
Bundall is derived from an Aboriginal word for a prickly vine species. In 1862, British landowner Edmund Henry Price established a settlement in the area. Bundall sugarcane plantation was established by him. The land was then used for dairy farming before being developed for urban use.
Bundall's attractions include a number of activities. Tourists may watch horse races and numerous major Australian horse racing events at Aquis Gold Coast Turf Club, including the Magic Millions Raceday, which takes place in January each year as part of the Magic Millions Carnival & Yearling Sale.
Tourists can take a cruise as well around the Gold Coast Broadwater in the morning, lunchtime, or afternoon, and watch a crab show demonstration and participate in numerous activities while on the island stop. On the lunch cruise, you can also order fresh and delectable seafood meals.
Also, tourists can visit the Bundall Shopping Districts, such as Sorrento Shopping Village and Ashmore Road & Upton Street, to shop for furniture, household goods, and specialized items.
Bundall is a suburb without schools. Surfers Paradise State School to the east, Benowa State School to the west, and Bellevue Park State School to the north-west are the closest primary schools. Benowa State High School in Benowa to the west and Keebra Park State High School in Keebra Park are the closest secondary schools.
Bundall also houses the Bundall Iceland Ice Rink, which is home to the Bartercard Gold Coast Blue Tongues, Queensland's sole ice hockey team in the Australian Ice Hockey League.
